Captivated in the sea of poetry

floating in the sea of indifference

swimming in the sea of praises

drowning in the sea of anarchy

freezing in the sea of icebergs

pummeled in the sea of rage

grieving in the sea of sadness

crying in the sea of grief

rejoicing in the sea of success

perplexed in the sea of mystery

painting in the sea of oils

climbing in the sea of mountains

suffocating in the sea of vacuum

cautious in the sea of villains

roasting in the sea of fire

soaring in the sea of thermals

anxious in the sea of worries

spellbound in the sea of love

relaxing in the sea of friends

invisible in the sea of darkness

digesting in the sea of food

basking in the sea of sunshine

investing in the sea of hedge funds

running in the sea of treadmills

denying in the sea of accusations

writing in the sea of words

resisting in the sea of pressure

resting in the sea of tranquility

binge-drinking in the sea of alcoholics

grilling in the sea of BBQs

sculpting in the sea of clay

shining in the sea of light

listening in the sea of music

knitting in the sea of wool

burping in the sea of indigestion

thinking in the sea of ideas

playing in the sea of sport

caressing in the sea of passion

yawning in the sea of boredom

blossoming in the sea of flowers

hydrating in the sea of hangovers

walking in the sea of trails

mesmerized in the sea of magic

captivated in the sea of poetry

Change of direction for Cheeky Monkey Poetry

Cheeky Monkey Poetry started publishing daily poems on May 31, 2021

Since then I have posted 500 pieces of poetry and short stories

This represents one piece of writing per day for almost 500 days

Going forward, I plan to post less frequently but hopefully maintain the same level of creative writing

Please take some time to browse through the archives

We plan to redesign the website so that archived poems are easier to access

Thank you for all your support and feedback

Stay Cheeky!

Penned with ink from rainbows

Amidst the green leaves aplenty

Angels leave their autographs

Penned with ink from rainbows

Scented with heavenly fragrances

Sweet delicate poetry for the eyes

Displaying beauty beyond imagination

Inviting the fairies to dance in celebration

In a world full of troubles and strife

There will always be flowers

Cinquain poetry

Photo by Thought Catalog on Pexels.com

I stumbled upon cinquain poetry.

Five lines with the following rules;

The first line is one word which is the title of the poem.

The second line contains two words which are adjectives that describe the title.

The third line has three words that tell the reader more about the subject of the poem or show action.  Many times these words are gerunds that end with “ing.”

The fourth line has four words that show emotions about the subject of the poem and may be individual words or a phrase.

The fifth line is one word that is a synonym of the title or is very similar to it.
