Hugs

Hugs have proven health benefits

Hugs can lower your blood pressure

Hugs can improve your immune sytem

Hugs can relieve stress and tension

If you give really long hug, your heart rate and breathing can go in sync with the recipient

We don’t need science to tell us hugs are good

Everybody knows hugs feel good, both as a giver and receiver

So what makes a really good hug

Firstly the hug can only be given with permission of the recipient

So always ask before you hug

This can be a verbal exchange or if you know each other well just by body language

Make eye contact before you hug and approach slowly with arms open

Take a deep breath before hugging to help synchronize your breathing

Lean in close and match the pressure of the other person

A good hug should last at least 20 seconds

Release gently from the hug and make eye contact

Smile

Enjoy the benefits of a good hug

Now go out and practice

If you are alone you can hug yourself

Its ok to announce to others that you need a hug

New start but old ways – Part 7 finale

Rick sat in a secure meeting room with his glum faced lawyer

The evidence against you is pretty damning said the lawyer

Rick protested his innocence and insisted on pleading not guilty

Somebody had set it up to make him the prime suspect he claimed

The lawyer summarized the evidence the police had gathered

There was no sign of forced entry and Rick had a key to the farmhouse

the time of death was around four am Saturday morning

Rick could not provide an alibi as he had spent the entire weekend alone

The killer had unsuccessfully attempted to break open Mr Jones’ safe

When the police had the safe opened they found a large sum of cash

This is all circumstantial said Rick, the attempted theft motive is just not credible

Well thats not the motive they will put forward said the lawyer

Rick looked puzzled as the lawyer explained more

Mr Jones had only one living relative, a nephew who lives far way

He was due to inherit the farm but six months ago Mr Jones changed his will

He made you the sole beneficiary so the police will claim that as a motive

The prosecutors will say you made it look like a robbery to cover up your real motive

Rick knew he had to figure out who was behind all this

He needed help from somebody who he could trust

He arranged for Daniel to come and visit him

A few weeks later Rick was released from custody

The police had received an anonymous letter identifying the real killer

Mr. Jones’ lawyer had conspired with the nephew to make sure Rick did not get the farm

They hired a contract killer and planned to split the proceeds of the farm after contesting the will

Nice work Daniel said Rick as they celebrated his freedom with a beer on the porch

Best not tell your mom you sent that letter to the police

It was pretty smart of you Rick to suggest I hack into the nephews’ text messages

Well I knew it had to be somebody connected to the will said Rick

Evelyn sold her house and moved into the farm with Rick

She gave up all her cleaning jobs and helped look after her baby grandson

Daniel married a local girl and was making a fortune in cyber security

Rick offered work to newly released prisoners needing a new start to change their old ways

New start but old ways- part 6

Rick was face to face with Bobby in a situation that could explode

He took a deep breath and stepped back away from Bobby

In a calm collected manner he told Bobby this was not a time for fighting

Lets just keep this business like and not get all emotional

I spent twenty five years in prison and I got to know a lot of people like you

They steal from customers, from their employers and underpay on taxes

They think they are so smart and will never get caught but they always do eventually

I have seen Mr Jones’ book keeping ledger and it contains all the evidence

Mr Jones is unaware of you stealing from him and we could avoid him the stress of a trial

You can start by writing a check for the real value of his produce from today

In addition you will pay him a weekly twenty percent bonus in cash for the next five years

Either you agree or you will go to prison and end up as somebodies bitch

Bobby agreed on the understanding that Rick would tell nobody about this deal

He wrote the check and promised to come back tomorrow with the cash

He invented a story for Mr Jones about new rates and a cash loyalty bonus

Mr Jones could now afford to buy new machinery and his business flourished

Mr Jones appreciated Rick’s hard work and gave him a pay rise

Evelyn would not accept rent so Rick bought materials to fix up the house

He still slept in the barn but he soon converted it into a second home

Evelyn now had a fully refurbished house and Daniel wore new clothes to school

Evelyn no longer had to work three jobs and could spend more time at home

She fell in love with Rick and continued to chase the fox most nights

Daniel was doing well at school and they had enough money for college

Rick proposed to Evelyn on a moonlight night in the barn, they were married in the spring

A few years later Evelyn had to visit a distant sick aunt and Daniel was away at college

Rick spent that weekend alone at the house doing home improvements

When he got to work on Monday morning the farm was sealed off

A policeman stopped him from entering and Rick told him he worked there

A detective came over and told him Mr Jones had been murdered

He could sense that the detective was highly suspicious

Rick had seen nobody all weekend and had no alibi

A week later Rick was arrested and charged with first degree murder

Dirty Money

dirty money everywhere

people wanting to be paid in cash

under the table transactions

spend it without a big splash

if your pile is too big to deposit

stuff it in an old suitcase

stash it in the back of your overloaded closet

hidden dirty money is open to discovery

you will always be in a state of worry

once lost there is no recovery

dirty money can never be cleaned discreetly

not even by the laundry man

those dirty money roots are visible completely

Always clean and protect your windows

windows are wonderful

always letting you see through

providing they are clean

protecting you from the rain and cold

waiting patiently at night

allowing the early morning sun to greet you

providing a viewing platform for sunsets

opening for fresh air

obediently sleeping when you close the blinds

always there when you want them

brutally honest giving you the view as it is

no filters or distortions

never changing with age

windows never lie

totally non-discriminatory

allowing anybody to look through

regardless of age, gender, race or political persuasion

windows are better than many people

much better than most politicians

somebody votes windows into office

windows begin to govern

an entire administration of windows is formed

nothing could be more transparent

never anything hidden, always in view

impossible to corrupt or subvert

windows rule

windows are cool

windows are kings

until somebody revolts

throws a stone

windows shatter

windows progressively collapse

an entire government is broken

society becomes windowless

invaders climb through broken windows

prisoners escape through broken windows

anarchy ensues

windows have failed us

an anti-window movement is formed

windows are hunted down and smashed

windows are boarded up

illegal transactions go unseen

everything is hidden from view

fear and uncertainty abound

news media stops broadcasting truth

nobody knows what is really happening

honest people are persecuted and abused

justice is nowhere to be seen

there is no more hope

until somebody installs a single window

a crowd gathers to admire the window

a bully is sent in to smash it

the crowd refuses to move

the bully does not like resistance

he runs away crying

more windows appear

spreading like wildfire

the bad guys move on

peace and love return

windows rule

always clean and protect your windows

The adventures of Mr Baker – Part 6 Finale

Mr Baker made three more data downloads for the Russians

He told them he was worried that internal audits would soon catch him

They laughed at him and replied we will let you know when its over

This B movie is running far too long he thought to himself

Mr. Baker told his secretary he was going out for a late lunch

He waited at the corner and a black limousine pulled up

Good afternoon sir said the smartly dressed driver

Soon the car entered the MI6 underground parking garage

Mr. Baker scanned his fingerprints at security and put his gun in a locker

He took the elevator directly to the top floor and entered an office

With a beaming smile he said you look as beautiful as ever Miss Rose

The aging secretary blushed and replied he is waiting for you

Good morning Commander said Mr. Baker its good to see you again

They shook hands as the commander reached for the single malt

Time for a quick celebration Baker before I go to brief the PM

You did a Brilliant job Baker we just picked up the entire gang

Their fake British MI6 officer ‘Nigel’ is downstairs in interrogation

Singing like a canary and asking for asylum said the Commander

I almost laughed out loud when Nigel threatened to kill me said Mr Baker

The Russians did a pretty realistic job trying to terrorize me with Nigel’s fake execution

We recovered most of the funds they transferred said the Commander

They were starting to pack up and run when we raided their base

Thankfully we stopped their mission to destroy a large sector of our economy

Our IT experts put a hidden virus in the last bunch of data you gave them

We got confirmation that its now shutting down multiple KGB systems

It should set their operations back a long time he chuckled while finishing his single malt

One can’t keep the PM waiting Baker so I must dash to number 10 now

They shook hands and Mr. Baker returned to his office in the limousine

He resumed his sleeper role waiting for his next MI6 assignment

Taking the 8.07 train every morning and reading his paper in the same seat

He attended banking conferences in the far east to raise his profile as a target for fraudsters

A few years later he saw a young Oriental woman sitting in his seat on the train

.……..The end…………or is it?

The adventures of Mr Baker – Part 5

Mr. Baker looked at the compromising photos

As he downloaded the data the Russians demanded

They picked him up the next day with the same goons

Another black hooded kidnapping

He handed over the memory stick

You did good this time Mr Baker they said

Here is another list of accounts to be downloaded

Now tell us about your meeting with MI6

Mr. Baker looked at the Intimidating handguns on the table

They already had enough data to steal huge sums

Cooperating might keep him alive a bit longer

Giving them full details of his meeting with MI6 was his only option

You made a wise decision to work with us Mr. Baker

MI6 will certainly pick you up again soon

Tell them you were blackmailed into giving us the data

But you had made a duplicate copy for them

Here is the sealed envelope for you to give to MI6

They will try and recruit you as a double agent

You must tell us everything MI6 asks you to do

Failure to follow our orders will be punished by death

Mr. Baker looked the Russian straight in the eye

He could see the man had no soul

The Russian pulled back a curtain revealing a two way mirror

Come take a look at this pathetic creature he said

Mr. Baker saw a figure in a chair next to a table

He had been badly beaten but he recognized the face of Nigel

We had to torture him for days to find out what he said to you

Your version matched his exactly which proved you are not lying to us

The Russian barked an order into an intercom

Mr. Baker watched as Nigel’s head was pushed onto the table

A cushion was put over his head just before the gun fired

Smoke rose from the cushion and blood dripped to the floor

…..To be continued……..
