dieting is no fun

denying yourself tasty food

eating leaves and cardboard

counting calories and carbs

dining out is pure torture

reading the menu is so hard

firing up your tastebuds 

before you order a boring salad

dressing on the side please

no cheese please

I’ll just have water thanks

how many carbs in a carrot

the scales become your enemy

trying everything to beat them

pre weighing toenail trim

and a skin scrub shower

step on scales slowly

hoping the numbers drop

only to see the naked truth

you are up a pound

back into cardio routine

drinking gallons of water

not looking at the wine bottles

avoiding cookie jar eye contact

you need a distraction

watch a movie on TV

but then there are commercials 

delicious foods fill the screen

lots of dieting coaches

telling you to try this and that

you discover a new dieting mantra

if it tastes good……. spit it out
